About Brett Caporn

Hello Im Brett Caporn from Western Australia. I was born in 1977 in Mt Barker in the south west of WA and have traveled and lived in every state and territory in Australia. I have strong interests in music and permaculture.

I first became interested in permaculture through my WWOOFing visits to SARI (Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute) in Nannup, south west WA in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The garden and the gardeners at SARI, Jeff and Jill Nugent are such an inspiration, and I am lucky to have them as my extended family! Also I have been gathering much information and inspiration from the many people, websites and blogs, articles and resources on the WWW. Thanks!!

I have just moved into a share house, so haven't done much gardening lately. I intend to get my own place where I can get into gardening and permaculture. Otherwise my main project is permaculture promotion and awareness spreading through my music and music releases as Spiral Soundsystem on my own record label, Little Rascal Records. My last EP release featured a track called 'where we have come from' (where are we going) which samples Bill Mollisson from the CD, Funding The Revolution with Bill Mollisson, recorded by Jeff Nugent, 1983. Spiral Soundsystem's next dub-techno EP release will be titled Grow Food Not Lawns. Dub., which will also feature pro-permaculture samples, links and resources on a multimedia digital download, USB stick and cassette.
