About Andrew Perlot

I grew up in the suburbs of Connecticut and knew and cared little about growing food, but after losing more than 55 pounds of fat and overcoming colitis, back problems, and regular headaches by switching to a raw food diet, I became fascinated with growing healthy organic food to feed myself, my friends, and my family.

I stumbled on Permaculture (Gaia's Garden was the first book I found on the subject) while looking for some better ways to manage my organic garden, and it was love at first sight.

After fooling around with some small-scale permaculture principals on borrowed land my father owns, building a keyhole garden, and planting a few fruit trees, I realized what power this system has. I'm determined to learn more, and hope to take my PDC soon.

My ultimate goal is to live in the tropics, plant a food forest, and grow most of my own food.

Professionally I run www.raw-food-health.net, where I help people escape disease my adopting a healthy raw food diet.
