About Owen Ingley

Anthropologist, Permaculturalist and Educator
In Owen's formative years, he graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in Anthropology and History, traveled extensively throughout Latin America, and gained valuable experiences working with diverse non-governmental organizations and research projects. These experiences generated a strong drive in Owen to look for practical solutions to the challenges that society faces (in both developed and developing countries) due to peak oil, environmental degradation, and unsustainable development.

While working as a English teacher in the US, Owen continued to develop a passion for organic farming, natural building, and permaculture. He interned and worked on organic farms throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, studied permaculture independently, and attended courses and internships with some of the leading natural building companies in the US. In 2008, Owen moved back to Puerto Rico and worked as a project manager and consultant. In 2011, he completed a Permaculture Design Certification with El Instituto de Permacultura de Puerto Rico. He has since collaborated with El Instituto in the development of an internship program, permaculture design at the teaching farm, and natural building trainings.

In addition to providing consultant services and collaborating with organizations throughout Puerto Rico, Owen is also the co-founder and Director of Plenitud- a non-profit organization focused on the promotion of sustainable and permaculture practices through research, demonstration, and educational outreach. Currently, his efforts are primarily devoted to the development of Plenitud's teaching and research center, instructing workshops on natural building and sustainable agriculture practices, and providing design and consultation services. Owen is passionate about Permaculture, research, metaphysics, nature, and educational outreach.
