About Justin Neidermeyer
I have spent the last 17 years of my life as a chef, always staying in touch with the best ingredients meaning staying in touch with our local organic farmers. My love for nature, farming, cooking, and design seemed to steer me into a career shift. I have had a craving for years to spend much more time outside, not hunkered down in the kitchen. That siad I decided to continue to work with food but on many diverse levels.
This is exactly what interested me about Permaculture. I was introduced to the concept years ago but until recently hadn't spent much time studying the subject. I then had an oportunity to take my first PDC with Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton in Istanbul 2010. This was one of the most inspiring experiences I have ever had for many reasons, and I finally saw how to pull all my interests toghether and help the world at the same time.
I am currently working on permaculture design projects in Greece, and New York state. As well I am the founder and creative director of the Sustainable Agriculture Trust, a non profit organization securing land for sustainable agriculture purposes, providing cooperative economic support for those practicing sustainable agriculture on many levels. Anything from a 100sqft lot in the middle of a city, to a small 5 acre project, to a hundred acres for sutainable ranchers. There are incentives for farmers using permaculture applications and a grant program for permaculture education awarded yearly to any of our members. In effect we help sustainable agriculture grow....Much more to come about this project and I hope to get all the support and love possible from the permaculture community! Thanks!
