About Helder Valente
In transition...learnin how to walk in the new paradigm, in the 5th dimention of interrelations
I am aconsultant and teacher of permaculture with the purpose of creating education and demonstration sites, schools and institutes to make more people understand the impact of the permaculture spiral.
Helder Valente is born in the rural north Portugal and into a family of sustainable living farmers. So already as a child he was fascinated by the beauty of nature and learning how elements relate and interact.
In the late 90`s he was introduced to permaculture while participating in the development of a community center near the Sintra mountains. And since then he has studied and practiced sustainable designs for a variety of environments, both urban and rural.
Recently Helder lived two years in southern Portugal taking part in the development of Vale de Lama Permaculture Institute and at the same time doing his permaculture diploma with the british permaculture association.
Currently he is traveling in different countries sharing his passion for permaculture and the shift our humanity can take to thrive and live in balance with nature.
Helder resonates well with a diversity of participants and landscapes.
And his teaching style is authentic, informative and creative.
Helder Valente is a strong supporter of low-income farmers and focuses his work on the creation of
strong social structures to build strong foundations for resilient communities...
He has created designs for communities all around the world from familiar small scale systems to projects
operating with more than 200 elements. His niche lies in the creation of harmonious social and natural
landscapes that demonstrate a high quality of life and a paradigm shift.
He has co-founded several permaculture institutes and organizations, and is developing short and long-term educational programs.
He is very passionate about non-formal education and creative methodologies to deliver knowledge.
After many years training and working with some of the most experienced permaculturists in the world, including
permaculture creator Bill Mollison, Doug Bullock, Sepp Holzer, Darren Dougherty, Geoff Lawton and Rosemary Morrow,
Helder decided to start creating his own style and aproach towards this design science. By the end of 2012
he felt a strong call from Peru and the Amazon rainforest, and is now gathering the resources to support
the creation of a more dynamic South American permaculture network that can respond in a efficient way
to the fast processes of deforestation of the Amazon rainforest and to the degradation of tribal cultures.
He is currently working directly with the Quechua and Shipibo tribes.
